CMRM condemns bombing of churches in Nigeria
The Claremont Main Road Mosque strongly condemns the Christmas Day bomb attacks on Nigerian churches that have left over 40 people dead and many more injured and some maimed for life. These cowardly bomb attacks are unconscionable and inexcusable and are clearly aimed at sowing divisions between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria, and elsewhere in the world. We call on the Muslim community not to tire from saying repeatedly, loudly and clearly that acts of terrorism and barbarism are contrary to the teachings of Islam.
We offer our sincere condolences to the loved ones of those killed or injured and the people of Nigeria. Only a strong demonstration of interfaith unity between Christians and Muslims will show those behind the attacks that they will never achieve their goal of dividing society along religious lines.
