The Claremont Main Road Saturday Morning Madrasah conducted its external hifz examination on Saturday, November 27. This annual programme rigorously evaluates the memorization and reading quality of some of the Madrassah's brightest students by inviting recognised and respected teachers and huffath in Cape Town to assess their hifz. This year, Shaykh Sadullah Khan acted as the examiner to the nine students (pictured above) who read from the 29th and 30th Juz. Shaykh Sadullah's criteria for the test included memorization, fluency in reading, pronounciation, tajwid as well as rhythm of recitation. Shaykh Sadullah was complimentary about the standard of the students and provided invaluable insights and constructive criticism as to areas which required improvement. He also gave a talk motivating them to further their respective study of the Qur'an which was well recieved by the students.
